FELTING PROJECT

We are excited to introduce a brand-new creative experience at the CARA National Conference—a collaborative Felting Project inspired by this year’s theme, “Many Voices, One Vision: Advancing Research Administration Together.” A felting table will be set up throughout the conference for attendees to drop in at any time, unwind, and add their personal touch to a vibrant community canvas. This hands-on activity is all about connection, creativity, and taking a moment to pause during a busy conference.

The project will be led by Carmen Rosen, Artistic Director of the Still Moon Arts Society—an organization celebrated for bringing together creativity, environmental stewardship, and community engagement across the Greater Vancouver Area. No experience is needed, and all supplies and guidance will be provided. Whether you’re trying something new, meeting new colleagues, or simply carving out a moment to relax, this safe and welcoming space invites everyone to contribute, create, and be part of something truly memorable.

MORNING WALK

Start your day with a refreshing early morning walk alongside fellow CARA colleagues at Minoru Park—a scenic green space with a fascinating history. Originally home to a horse racing track and later an airfield, the park was named Minoru after a racehorse owned by King Edward VII, adding a unique historical touch to your morning stroll.
This gentle 2 km walk will begin and end in the Sheraton Hotel lobby. Lace up your shoes, enjoy the fresh air, and ease into the conference day with light movement and great company.
